Central States Manufacturing Inc. Founder Carl David Carpenter, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 at his family farm in Jane, Mo. Born on July 7, 1932 in Flint, Mich. to Plez and Mary Evelyn Warr Carpenter, Carl founded the Lowell, Ark.-based company in 1988. He revolutionized the metal building components industry by offering cut-to-order panel lengths with quick delivery. A devout Christian, Carpenter insisted on treating everyone with honesty and integrity. His impact on the industry is evident by all who knew him. He will be sorely missed. “It is a sad day here at Central States as we mourn the loss of a truly great man,” said Donna Leger, Central States president. “We intend to honor his legacy by continuing to uphold the company values that he held so dear.” Survivors include:
