Chicago’s construction and demolition industry is coming together on Friday, March 4 at the House of Blues to sponsor a charity concert benefitting the ZCenter, a 24-hour crisis response and support system for survivors and families confronting sexual assault.
ZCenter’s “Out of the Blues” concert promises a night full of music from blues hall of famer Lonnie Brooks and the “new queen of blues” Shemekia Copeland, four hours of open bar socializing, outrageous live auctions, great food and desserts, and a chance to mingle with the Who’s Who of Chicago’s construction and demolition industry. It is an unlikely partnership that busts macho stereotypes. Despite hard economic times, particularly for construction/demolition, this industry has stepped up.
“Every year OUT OF THE BLUES just keeps getting bigger and better with amazing acts and more construction and demolition industry leaders in attendance to have a great time, while helping ZCenter’s reduce the threat of sexual assault and abuse,” said Tom Robinette, CEO of Robinette Demolition.
Reservations for this exclusive, sure to be sold-out show on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 7-11pm are available for $175 per person ($150 of each ticket is tax deductible) and can be purchased online at ZCenter.org or by contacting Robinette Demolition’s Angela Ott (aleeds@rdemolition.com) 630-833-7997. In addition, a limited number of hotel rooms have been reserved at the adjoining hotels for event guests.
All proceeds will go to support the unduplicated services provided by ZCenter, which provides 24-hour crisis response, risk reduction programs, and comprehensive advocacy services for survivors and families confronting sexual assault and abuse at no cost to its clients.
Attending the event will also give you a chance to rub elbows with event sponsors including: Robinette Demolition, Turner Foundation, Crane Construction, Horton Insurance, Ablaze Trucking, Frain Industries, Cobra Concrete Cutting, J.J. Henderson, Campanella & Sons, Inc., and Brandenburg, as well as BCU, Wolters Kluwer, American Airlines and many more.
