Sapa Profiles North America has completed an asset purchase agreement with Arch Extrusion to acquire its extrusion facility in Miami. The facility includes two modern extrusion presses and an anodizing line for both clear and electrolytic colored finishes that meet stringent architectural standards.
Arch Aluminum & Glass, headquartered in Tamarac, Fla., is one of North America’s largest architectural glass and aluminum fabricators. This arrangement will allow Arch to focus on its core business of glass and metal fabrication throughout the USA and Canada with its 24 manufacturing and distribution locations.
The agreement demonstrates the continuing commitment of Sapa to the North American extrusion market. As a result, Sapa will be able to offer increased extrusion capacity to serve customers in Florida, as well as increased anodizing capability throughout the Southeastern United States.
Patrick Lawlor, business area president of Sapa Profiles North America, said: “This agreement gives us a greater presence throughout the Southeast. The acquisition will help us to provide the market more responsive service and shorter lead times. We will be able to offer our customers a range of extrusion products that is truly unique. That reflects our strategy of providing solutions to the marketplace, backed by our technical support and financial strength.”
Arch’s CEO, Jeff Leone, said, “At Arch our customers like the idea of one stop for all their metal and glazing system needs and our new partnership with Sapa will allow us to be an even more reliable supplier.”
