Big Ass Fans is hosting the Living Arts & Science Center’s H’Artful of Fun fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 5, 7-11 p.m., at its R&D lab in Lexington, Ky. This years’ theme is “Heart & Soul” and will feature live music by PAYBACK, a James Brown tribute band.
In addition to hosting the 21st Annual H’Artful of Fun Event, Big Ass Fans will donate two customized Isis fans that will be auctioned off during the event. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Living Arts and Science Center.
The fans up for auction are Isis by Big Ass Fans, a versatile, slim, contemporarily designed ceiling fan that delivers consistent energy-efficient comfort year-round. Weighing less than 100 pounds, Isis can be installed in spaces with ceilings as low as 12 feet. One eight-foot Isis fan covers more area than nine small ceiling fans, while using only one third of the energy of one standard fan.
The two local artist chosen to customize the Isis fans are Erica Strecker and Blake Eames each bringing their own creative style to a very unique fan. The 10′ Isis design, created by Erika Strecker, is inspired by the traditional application of pin striping and the use of silver leafing details to Hot Rod cars and motorcycles. Blake Eames uses geometric patterns of circles and stripes in historic tones and metallic colors to bring her design alive on the 8′ Isis. Getting her inspiration from the letters of the vintage movie theater marquees, the circles graduate in size to feel as they would fly off the edge with movement.
